Those of you who know Adam well will know that he can get a little obsessive about things that he likes. We are only just through his Charlie and the Chocolate Factory phase, which involved much singing of the Augustus Gloop song (Augustus Gloop, Augustus Gloop, that great big silly nincompoop...), many drawings of Augustus Gloop getting stuck up the pipe, Oompa Loompas, and all things Charlie, much learning of the Oompa Loompa dances as a FHE activity, much building of chocolate factories out of lego... this was about an 18 month phase.
Now, we're on to Harry Potter. He is only allowed to watch the first two movies because after that they start to get a little scary, but I have lost count of how many times he has watched them this summer. He particularly likes to explore the special features discs - otherwise known as 'doing the choosings'.
However, I think it might be time to put a stop to this, because Ellie is getting in on the action. She does a mean impression of Lucius Malfoy when Harry tricks him into giving Dobby a sock -'You lost me my SERVANT!' She has the exact inflections down. Yesterday they were playing being Professor Sprout harvesting the mandrakes - you should hear her mandrake squeal. It's pretty good. She likes playing being Moaning Myrtle. Whenever we have to run errands they dash out to the car yelling 'Quick! Quick! The Hogwarts Express is leaving!' The other day she kept insisting Adam was a Cornish pixie and was shouting 'Peski Pixie Pixonum' at him over and over, until he came to me in tears to beg me to tell her he wasn't a Cornish pixie. I hear random spells being yelled out throughout the day - Arania Exemay is the spell of today, I have no idea which one that even is, but she also randomly yells out 'Oculus Reparo!' 'Alohamora!' 'Expelliarmus!' and a number of others, so she really is paying attention!
We are living in a world of all things Harry Potter at the moment, but my favourite effect of this is Ellie stomping around the house shouting 'Oh dry up, Adam, you great prune!' Thanks, Hagrid. I am just waiting for her to tell me or Jeff to 'dry up, you great prune...'
You know it is coming.

Oh my. We've had those 'passions' around our house too. We've been Harry fans for years. Ask me about my Harry Potter Ebay purchases sometime. Sheesh. Robes, wands, figurines. We're a little obsessed too. And then there was the Star Wars period...
That is SO FUNNY! You need to get some video of it! Kids, their brains and ears are like sponges, aren't they?
