Kate's first recital

Tonight, I am proud of Kate, who has spent the last week quietly worrying and being nervous about having to play two pieces in her first piano recital. She has been worrying about having to play in front of lots of people. She's tried to get out of it numerous times. I told her that it was ok to be nervous, but she knows her pieces really well and she would feel a lot better once she'd done it. Everyone has to face concert nerves and conquer them on their own, and the best way is to get a successful performance under your belt. The next time is always easier.

She need not have worried, she did really well and pulled it off nicely!

Maybe the dress helped...

We inherited this awesome dress from another pupil who outgrew it. The piano keys are so fun and then you notice the little hands, which make it just a little bit creepy too... but perfect for a piano recital!

Ellie did beautifully too. She didn't play a note wrong. It was lovely.

Adam chose to go on an overnight scout trip instead of playing in the recital. I told him that as punishment he has to play the next recital memorized!
