Happy Easter!

Somehow I managed not to take any pictures yesterday, which is fine. It's not like the kids all had matching outfits or anything  - no really, they did not. Parenting fail on Easter Sunday, I know. Kate went to church in a yellow dress with white polka dots, and bright purple socks with white polka dots. When it was pointed out to her that her socks didn't go with her dress at all she said 'They do match! They both have white polka dots' and given that we had less than eight minutes to get to church at that point and I was supposed to be already there and playing prelude music I had run out of time to argue the point and off we went.

So there will be no pictures of a cute well-dressed family on this blog! Instead here are some pictures of the easter egg hunt we did on Saturday with some neighbourhood friends.

The kids had so much fun. This was the first year that the little kids actually collected more eggs than the big kids! We do make the bigs work for their eggs - they are up trees and cunningly camouflaged in bushes and flowerbeds - but I wasn't expecting the littles to win! Kate won by sheer speed. She never stops, she is in constant, constant motion, bouncing or running everywhere. So she was just fast!

Nicholas was fun to watch. When we were all done he sat down on the grass and worked and worked on getting the wrapper off one of his sweets. He was the picture of concentration and focus.

Adam likes to have little kids following him around. Whenever there is a group of kids you will find Adam in charge. And whenever there is sheer hysteria in the house, with all the littles running around screaming (happy or not), you will usually find that Adam is the root cause of all of that too.

Part of the fun is checking out what's in each other's baskets....

We had a lovely Easter, and we hope you did too!
