The Principles of Successful Accessorizing...

Ellie does not know the meaning of the phrase 'less is more'. For her (and I suspect most five year olds) more is most definitely better!

The other day my girls were given a bag full of hats, scarves, gloves, hair bands, and costume jewellery. They were in heaven. This is what happens when a five year old gets going on the accessories:

1. You can wear hats, scarves and gloves indoors. It's allowed.
2. You can wear rings on top of your gloves.
3. You can wear multiple rings at the same time. Up to eight, in fact - one for each finger. And you can wear them all on top of your gloves.
5. As long as hair accessories go in your hair, it's all good. You don't actually have to use them in the way they were designed for. Just as long as they're somewhere in your hair.

And this is what happens when an eighteen month old joins in. Please note the Wii remote, which deserves another post all by itself. She is most often seen clutching it and shouting 'my turn! my turn!'

She puts a hairband on most mornings. She comes to show me and pronounces herself 'pretty!' The hairband is always wonky and sometimes nowhere near her hair. It is hilarious and quite cute!

I miss these days sooooooo much. My girls used to revel in the dress up. I will have to email you some pictures. Maybe I'll even post. They used to do fashion shows and spend hours in outlandish get ups. I could cry. Now they care what they wear and what others think. Where is the innocence?

That is hilarious because my girls, especially Maddie do this on a regular basis. They love anything that can add bling to their hair or clothes, they love makeup and shoes!!! At least Adam and Ethan aren't joining in!
