Nickerbob's Birthday

Nicholas turned six last week! His birthday fell on a Thursday which is a busy, busy day. I tried to persuade him to postpone the celebrations until at least the next day when we could have people over, but he absolutely would not. It was his birthday, and he was going to have presents and a cake, with or without friends or aunties or even his Dad, who was out at an HOA meeting. So when we got home from choir we waited until Jeff got home from his meeting, and at 9:30pm we started on presents and cake!

It turned out to be quite a Star Wars birthday... there have been constant arguments recently about the fact that Nicholas keeps nicking Adam's lightsabers to play with, so he got one of his own, and a clone trooper Nerf gun with Star Wars bullets, and the best jammies ever. He loves these jammies!

Taking his stormtrooper responsibilities seriously

In Primary on Sundays the birthday child comes up and pulls a question from the birthday jar before we sing their birthday songs. On the week of his birthday Nicholas' question was 'What is your favourite kind of birthday cake?' and without even hesitating for a second he said 'Caramel.' I don't know that he has ever tasted caramel cake, but it was fairly clear that he needed a caramel cake for his birthday, so that's what he got!

It tasted pretty good, too!
